Fabric & care

Polyester-spandex jersey

The fabric of most of our tops and dresses. It stretches, recovers and barely creases. Wash cold, tumble dry low or hang.

Rayon and viscose blends

Soft and cool with a heavier drape. Rayon tightens in heat, so wash cold and air dry to keep the length.

Ribbed and waffle knits

Textured knits relax a little as you wear them and spring back in the wash. Dry flat so the ribs keep their line.

Chiffon and printed wovens

Light layers on blouses. Hand wash or use a mesh bag on a delicate cycle, then hang to dry and steam out creases.

Sweater knits

Acrylic and polyester blends. Wash inside out, never wring, and dry flat on a towel.

Small habits that keep clothes new

  1. Turn prints inside out before washing.
  2. Close zips and tie sashes so they do not snag.
  3. Wash dark colours together for the first few washes.
  4. Skip fabric softener on sportswear-style knits; it dulls the stretch.
  5. Store knits folded, not hung.
